How a number gets onto this site, what is checked before it is published, and what happens when one turns out to be wrong.
Every figure names its source
The rule the project rests on: a number is published with a stated source and the date it was retrieved, or it is not published. A figure with no traceable origin is exactly the artefact this project exists not to produce.
The data sources are not finalised, and until they are, this page names none of them. Naming one before the pages that use it exist would be borrowing credibility rather than describing a process.
Corrections are recorded, not quietly applied
A correction changes the page and notes what changed. Silently editing a number is indistinguishable from having been right the first time, which is the opposite of what a traceable reference is for.
What is not claimed
This site does not present itself as verified, endorsed or backed by any outside organisation. If that ever changes, this page changes first and states the arrangement.
Scope
Alimvia covers what foods contain and how to plan meals around it. It does not cover diagnosis, treatment, or protocols for supplementation.
